Steward The Season

Young worship leaders—something that has been on my heart lately:

Steward well where the Lord has you right now.

It’s easy to look ahead to the next opportunity, the next platform, the next title. But the Lord is deeply concerned with how we handle the present assignment. Be intentional with everything He has placed in your hands. Honor the leaders you serve under and the team you serve with. Show up with humility, gratitude, and a heart to serve.

Don’t chase a position or a title—seek the Lord and be faithful to where He has placed you.

When we value what God has currently entrusted to us, it reveals our character. Faithfulness in the small and unseen places shows the Lord that we can be trusted with more. If we’re always looking past what’s in front of us, we can miss the very thing God is using to prepare us.

Think about the life of David. Before he was ever king, he was a shepherd. Long before the crown, he was faithfully tending sheep in obscurity—learning to trust God, worship in the fields, and defend what was entrusted to him. The private faithfulness came before the public calling.

The same is true with Joseph. Joseph received a dream, but the journey from dreamer to ruler went through pits, slavery, and prison. In every season he remained faithful with what was placed in his hands, and in time God elevated him to influence and leadership.

God often develops character in hidden places before He reveals calling on visible platforms.

Scripture reminds us in Luke 12:48:
"To whom much is given, much will be required."

If we can be trusted with what God has given us today—no matter how small it may seem—it prepares us for what He may entrust to us tomorrow.

So be faithful.
Be grateful.
Honor the people around you.
Serve well in the present.

Your current season may be the very ground where God is forming the character needed for the calling ahead.
